About Me

I'm the author of 16 books in the areas of human rights, women's issues, poetry, grieving, and "Healing: A Life with Chronic Illness. I'm also a Resident Scholar with the Women's Studies Research Center at Brandeis University. Each day for me is like climbing a mountain, battling fatigue and pain in order to have an hour or two to write. Going to events is tiring and I rest over 2 hours every afternoon and struggle with insomnia. I've also had two serious medical malpractices, not unusual.
