msdirty13

Hello! I have just recently discovered this site.  My husband is preparing to have a medtronic pain pump implanted on March 13 (yes...friday the 13th)  I have so many questions that I hope someone can shed some light on. First of all, my husband is 40 years old and had his first back surgery in February 2000.  As of now , he has had 5 back surgeries from a mid-thoracic fusion to "simple" trimming of the herniated disc to a full blown t-5 t-6 rods and screws implanted.  After many RX's he has decided to go this route.  He is at his wits end; and so am I and our three boys.  My question that he is afraid to ask the doctors...what kind of physical limitations do you have daily??  Can you exercise, swim, play non-contact sports???  Thank you all for your time!!

I do not have a medtonic pump but I just read a comment about it. You can find it in the comment section under the best medication for chronic low back pain by Dr. Mark Borigini. Denise gives a website www. medtronics.com That may be able to answer some of your questions. I would get all my questions answered before I had this put in. The best of luck to your husband.
