Following an essential spinal fusion/decompression 15 years ago, I now live with chronic pain with my subequently damaged cervical vertebrae and lumbar vertebrae above the fusion area.
However, last week I underwent a 3 day-stay in hospital, during which I received traction, physiotherapy and spinal manipulation/injection/s under anaesthesia. So there is light at the end of my tunnel, with the neurosurgeon stating a 75% success rate lasting for a year.
The irony is that my medical aid (Discovery Health) advised they will pay for surgery but not for this conservative treatment.
May there be light at the end of all your tunnels.

Ironic indeed - Discovery Health! Is that the Discovery Health channel that I watch all the time?
Sorry to hear you are living with such difficult pain -
Ellen
Too soon to tell. I underwent spinal manipulation/injedtion (s).
I'm currently finding the treatment, along with regular physiotherapy, very helpful and my pain has probably been reduced by about 70%.
I know it's short-term but am grateful for the respite.
In love and light

Yes, Discovery Health is the medical to which I subscribe.
However, they have afterall paid a great deal of the bills for which I am very grateful.
