I found out today that you can experience withdrawal from Tylenol!

I had been taking a toxic amount (16 extra-strength a day) for the past few months.  It seemed to help the Tramadol work better when I took them together.  Well, my doctor is very worried that I'm screwing up my liver, so she told me to stop the Tylenol.  She gave me a prescription for a fentanyl patch, so it didn't look like I'd need the Tylenol.  I went cold turkey starting last night.

I got a headache this morning, but thought it was just from all of the beeping machines at work on top of dehydration.  It got progressively worse, until I realized that I was trying not to pass out while talking to my boss.  I made it home and at that point had a full-blown migraine.

My husband talked to my doctor, who said it sounded like classic Tylenol withdrawal.  There is still the chance that it was the new medication, but I never knew that Tylenol withdrawal was even possible.  I thought everyone else should know, just in case they found themselves in the same situation.  My doctor recommended tapering off the Tylenol over the next few days and then trying the fentanyl patch again.

I'll let you all know how that goes.
