I'm 20 and have all my levels of bloodwork beside me. My hair falls out everywhere! I can literally  show you what a hand full of hair straight from the scalp looks like everyday but yet, there's no explenation for the hair loss? Anything anyone?

I am not sure what you take for medications, but I have one that can cause hairloss. It is called Methetrexate, it is used for lots of different diseases, mine happens to be Rheumatoid Arthritis. I know what your thinking, I am too young (meaning you) for that. I happen to get it when I was just 14. I don't know if you even take medication, but look on the labels from the pharmacy and see what the side effects are for the meds you are taking. It should list all the side effects, but not all drug companies put all of them down, so go on the web and just make sure. I hope this helps a little bit-Lorie

I am not currently taking any medications I occassionally take a Hydrocodone to help with the pain but I don't like to take them because I feel that my body wants to depend on the meds to help the pain and I can't have them on a constant with no health insurance it rings up a bill. I try to fight the pain with my mind and tell myself I could be worse I'm okay. I'm currently finding new information with my blood work, and learning more about why I could have TMJ Syn. (I had surgery as a child for tonsilitus and they inserted and removed a breathing tube, also at birth I was on life support for weeks) and I can't find any of my childhood medical records... Anywhere. I feel like somethings up. When I picked up my lab work (also went missing) I've been waiting for a year and a half they couldnt locate any other file but the lab work  in the Hospital and both Doctors offices

I would definitely think that having a breathing tube in when you were a baby would have a significant explanation as to why you have so much pain. Having your jaw open constantly would be very hard on a little baby, but I am sure they would have rather had you on oxygen. I also have hypothyroid and I would go to an endrocronologist (Dr. for thyroid) if I were you. They can run other types of tests to check out your hormone levels. I think you are being very smart by not letting others deter you from getting to the bottom of things! Good luck. Lorie

Another thing you might check is your thyroid levels.  Although the range for "normal" levels was changed a few years ago, most labs and many doctors still use the old range.  The new normal range is between 0.3 and 3.0.  If your levels are not within that range, you may have a thyroid problem.

    T4 THYROXINE (6.1-12.2) ug/dL and my level was 7.6

    TSH (0.7-6.4) uU/mL my level was 0.992

    FREE T4 (>16YRS) (0.6-1.1) ng/dL my level was 0.9

With the new levels do I have a thyroid problem? My mother has Graves Disease and I take after her health hereditary. My mother also told me that in Charelston it always takes them two weeks to get her labwork back to her and I got a call the next day saying all levels were fine.
