My 12 year old daughter has had some pain in her ankles over the last week. Yesterday she started getting sharp, squeezing, burning pain in both feet. This has not stopped ever since and I'm at a loss as to what to do. I've tried everything for her. The doctor this morning barely gave her a once over...after a 2.5 hour wait. HELP!!!

Well, first off..i think you need to find a MD thats going to listen to you and your daughter to find out what the cause is of all this. How did the pain start? a fall? did it just happen? Is she able to walk and excersis alittle to stretch it? any XRAY's been done? id like to hear more details so i can give you the best support for you and your daughter. Because right now its hard to help when we dont know if its a muscle pain or a fracture (bone type) of pain.
I am very glad you have joined our CPC site to discuss whats been going on with your daughter. There are TONS of wonderful people on this site to help...me included
but if you can, please tell us more about whats been going on.
Best wishes and you as well as your daughter will be in my prayers. -Kim
It's so nice to finally get an answer. We saw the pediatrician today and got more support than yesterday. She had bloodwork done today, (boy was that a battle!), to check for arthritis, CBC, ANA, LDH, ESR, and a variety of other things. She is also to use crutches to assist her to return to school. She hasn't been this week due to the pain when she walks. She will also see a foot specialist next week who deals in orthotics.
To back up a bit...this pain came on gradually, through the course of a day. It seems to be muscle/ligament type pain. She describes it as "BURNING, squeezing, sharp, shooting pain" As for advice on pain control from the doctor, "Tylenol and Advil", which is totally not helping. She's very upset and very angry and I'm at wits end!!! Any advice is welcome.
