This is a fused glass panel which I made prior to my last 2 surgeries (7/9 surgeries). II used over 30 colors of Bullseye brand fusible glass and added dichroic glass. The dichroic will change color in response to varying angles of view. The glass is set on a tin ceiling tile and framed. I like the marriage of old (ceiling tile) with new (glass).
The glass fractured when I first fired it, a lovely metaphor. I had to add additional glass and refire it and it is different than my original vision, forever changed, yet enhanced. Just like one's life with chronic pain.
I rarely do art, as I have to have very good pain control and control in major facets of life, in order to be creative. Doing art always leaves me more symptomatic for a significant period of time, will do more!

I am a glass artist as well, or was before I became sick. I have a huge, beautiful fully stocked studio that I haven't worked in for several years. So sad. Your piece is beautiful. I know a little about what it takes to get thru "it" and create something that feels like a part of you. I used to be told that's what made my own pieces so different. They had a life within them. A soul. This piece has a soul as well, one that you can see even thru a single dimensional photograph. Very nicely done.

I am sorry to hear that you are unable to work in your studio. I havent been in several months and I may be able to tolerate it better, if my neck fusion took, 4 segments. We ned to get x-rays with a proper read-not skirt all around the issue like before-I will again assert myself, but it shouldnt be that way. If you see a plate and screws radiologist guess what-yes we want to know the status of the bone growth within!!!! I appreciate you taking the time to comment and that you are a glass artist I especially value your kind words. I would love to see your work if you are able to send pictures. I am the poster boy of hope for chronc pain, I pushed and pushed when I nearly couldnt and I asked for the cervical discogram (rarely done anymore) that nailed the diagnosis 14 years later, and I developed an intra-inguinal palpatory test to self diagnose 3 inguinal neuropathies. I searched the medical textbooks and articles an will publish a case study. If I can do anything to be of help, please let me know.
Best Regards
