About Me

I had a terrifying bicycling crash in '98 where I broke my jaw right below both joints as well as diagonally across the chin. My jaw was wired for some time, and the chin held together with titanium pins. I had braces shortly after to correct the bite and fix some pre-existing overcrowding.

All was well for nine years, I had some snapping and clicking, but no pain. During the summer of '06, I started experiencing pain around the chin, which quickly progressed to the joints and beyond.

So far I've seen a gaggle of doctors, had an MRI, a CT, two splints, and been seen for arthroscopy and joint replacement which are both off the table for now.

I'm also chasing a neurological problem that was noticed by one of the first TMJ specialists.
