Tj, I too have TMJ. I don't have the vitek replacement but have had total of 18 surgeries done. There are some really good groups for support on yahoogroups.com as well as a new one on Google. I hope you can get the support you need. There are many suffering from the effects of this insidious disease. Hope this helps you some.

MY SURGERY WAS 5 HOURS LONG. THE NOSE AND THROAT DR. TOLD ME THAT IS WHY I HAVE THIS NOW. I ALSO HAVE A PLATE AND SCREWS IN MY NECK. I TRIED SOFT FOOD AND THE HEATING PAD AND IT DIDN'T HELP. MY E-MAIL ADDRESS IS angelcdf@roadrunner.com. let me know if you receive this. my name is Cheryl Fourby
