non-malignant spinal cord tumor causing severe pain. This will end up taking the use of my legs.
Ultracet, hopefully something more effective soon
I was in a bad MVA in 1985 where I broke and crushed a lot of bones to many to name here, I did end up with a right leg from the knee down that doesn't work. After I was told that I would never walk again and to accept it I decided that wasn't going to happen with in a year I was walking on my own and living my life again much to the amazement of some very good doctors at Harbor View Medical Center in Seattle.
I've always lived with pain from those injuries but nothing that stopped me from doing what I wanted in life I still rode horseback, hunter/jumper/dressage. Still hiked and rock climbed (okay not high but I could do it) raised my girls and had a grand adventure with life, I have wandering feet, maybe due to the fact I can never find a place I feel is home or right, maybe there will never be one of those places. who knows.
In 2003, my daughter and I had a minor fender bender a lady rearended us. I had to have the bumper replaced on my car but found that my back hurt as bad as it did when I had my big car wreck, so reluctantly I went to the doctor who ordered an MRI which found a mass on my spine.
At that time they were afraid it was cancer so I went through all the tests which showed nothing. Then it was off to the operating room for a laminectomy for a biopsy, it was non-malignant but inoperatable. I was given pain meds and told to accept it.
My wandering feet struck again and I was off to a couple of more states and trying not to pay attention to the pain and the fact my legs were getting weaker. I finally ended up in Oregon and found a good Neurosurgeon who was sure he could get the tumor out he couldn't and again I was sent home with pain meds and the knowledge that the pain would increase as time went by and my legs would eventually give out.
I'm now with my second pain specialist the first I could stand the second we'll see hopefully she'll be better I'm keeping my fingers crossed but not holding my breath.
