About Me

I have fibromyalgia, a chronic back injury with sciatica (now on BOTH sides), knee pain, and TMJ. Though I have been to a pain management specialist, I have been labeled as a drug-seeking opiate addict due to HIS mistakes. I know now that the CNS pain of fibromyalgia cannot me managed with opiates, though my back pain and pain from arthritis can. However, I can't get any pain medication as a result of his blacklisting.

My pain is not, and has never been, managed properly. I am in constant pain, which is ameliorated somewhat with the medication my psychiatrist has prescribed (Cymbalta and Topamax). Part of the problem is damage done when I was morbidly obese (I had Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery 8 years ago and lost almost 200 lbs -- I was about ready for my own zip code), and part of it was an on the job injury that not only ruptured two or three disks but intensified an unknown spinal defect. I am now retired and on disability. I have great kids and a wonderful husband who put up with all this, but being in pain all the time is DEPRESSING! Fancy that.
