Now What!?

For the past two weeks I've been worried out of my mind that I might have MS. I had most of the symptoms and was just waiting for my Dr. app't. so he could tell me what's happeniing. I saw him yesterday and he pretty much ruled out the MS but not completely, He's more concerned with white areas aound center of my brain. (Me too!!!) Now He wants me to have "another" MRI AND CT Scan and possibly a Spinal Tap>:(   I've never had one but have heard that it's terribly painful. Of course I am a pessimistic person who always worries about the worst. BRAIN CANCER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Does anyone have any idea what those white spots could be? I need help!!!!!!!!!!!!Just old worried me

Hi,

I am sorry that you are still in limbo when it comes to your diagnosis, to me their is nothing worst than the not knowing what's going on! I've had several spinal tap's through out my life, and I am here to tell you that they are not as bad as everyone says they are.

The one thing that I will recommend you do is, relax. When the Doctor has you positioned for your spinal tab make sure to take deep breaths and to put your mind at ease..... Think of something pleasant and fix your eyes to a spot on the wall or the bed, or the room. The more relax that you are, the easier the procedure will be.

So go through your tests and I hope that everything will turn out to be positive for you. Let's hope that the diagnosis and prognosis is a good one.... OK? Don't cross the bridge until you get there. I've been there and done that, and it does not do you good to think negatively! Trust me! Stay positive and keep your faith.

Take care,

Millie

Hi Millie, sorry I didn't answer this before, but thank you for your input. Smile Since I wrote that I have found out I do not have MS but that's about all I have found out that was positive anyway. I still don't know what the white areas in my brain are. I have had two brain scans, one with contrast, and four MRI's. My doctor is suppose to call me next Monday with my latest results. I am so stressed all the time, both with my chronic back pain and now this brain situation. Thanks again for caring.
