FDA panel recommends stop making Vicodin and Percocet

  • I finally got into a pain clinic and part of my meds include Hydrcodone with acetimenim at a lower level so it did not exceed the recommended dose "for liver safety". DUH! Can't we or our doctors measure the amount and just make certain the acet.. Is low enough that we are "safe" after they have encouraged everyone for years that it was such a safe drug..Don't stop making Vicodin or Percocet until a safe alternative can be manufactured! Remember they told us it was safe for YEARS. As a person who's productive and social life have been turned upside down by chronic pain, finally getting some help I literally started crying at reading the headline that someone would be ignorant enough to even propose such an idiot idea. And not the easiest idea to put out there but how many people with partial pain relief rely on the brief periods they can function because of the Vicodin or Percocet relief? Has the FDA figured in the percent suicides could go up for lack of pain relief? How do they really know which people are more likely to have liver damage?
