Our companion animals who share our pain.

By Skye Wednesday, May 16, 2012
My companion dog of 10 years, died Sunday morning. We share on here so many topics that make us feel better but Buddy was always there unconditionally to make certain I was Ok. He followed me everywhere, encouraged me to exercise if I could, he cuddled with me on the bed if I didn't. He was always ready for a car ride and to go somewhere and people would happily approach him and me and compliment what a wonderful dog he was when I felt I had nothing wonderful to talk about in my life. He encouraged me to socialize by always being anxious to make friends for me even On days I didn't think I had energy to talk to anyone. Buddy how I miss you and thank you for all the days you spent by My side so I was not so lonely in my pain. I bet there are many of you who have animal friends that help you get through your hardest days...our compainion animals can be a great help in getting us past our pain. Goodbye Buddy...

I'm so sorry for your loss. My dog Benson is my best friend. Dogs are always there for us and they don't judge us like people do. God bless.         Scooter

So sorry for your loss, Skye.  I have a wonderful cat, Princess who definitely knows when I'm in a flare and not feeling well.  If I'm laying down, she will come up to my face and gently lick it...isn't it amazing how these animals know what's going on?

Anyway, my cat truly helps me by making me relax when I pet her, which makes the pain become more easy to manage...I know it will take awhile for you to grieve for your dog, but I'm glad you acknowledged all the wonderful qualities that your dog had and how it influenced you...

Hi,

I'm so very sorry for your loss, Buddy sounds like a great little guy who was very loved.

I currently have 2 cats who I adore and they are very sweet to me.  They know when I'm sad or in pain. Isabella who is 5 now is very intuitive about my feeling or my pain and is always there when I need her.

I hope you find the strength to find another companion...I'm sure Buddy wouldn't want you on you own.

Take care of you,

Sherry
