I've used everything under the sun. Been in a head-on auto accident at age 16 lacerated my left ear, was read-ended in 93' totaled a car, was a hiker, biker, mountain climber, rock climber...blew out both knees. I'm a Migraine sufferer, (trips to Emergency rooms, throwing up and just terrible problems and overall body pain.

Have torn rotator cuff's both shoulders (the results of trying to hold down a job last year).

As of today's visit to pain doctor....I requested to drop my dose to 25 mcg. I've always taken sub-doses of all my medications.

My meds are: P.M. 75Mg Amitriptline, 1.0 MG Lorazepam, 2/350MG Soma, Estrace, and B.P. Aceon.

A.M. 200MG Celebrex, B.P Aceon, Estrace and every 72 hours a Fentanyl 25mcg patch.

About 10 years ago in the FIBROMYALGIA NETWORK NEWSLETTER (which I subscribe to, and was of great help)...It was suggested to try a topical gel of Ketoprofen. I order it from a Compound Pharmacy (the best Compound

Rx I have ever found.

It has helped at times I could not get trigger point injections in my neck. That's a whole other area that I could go into.....regarding that things I have had tried for my Migraines.

With this said, yes the Fentanyl patch has been this only thing that has given me my life back

I hope this answers the questions of the 3 people that have requested info.

April

Thank you for sharing your patch situation.  Have you had much relief with it.

I have a friend that is now using the patch delivery system and she is really pleased with the results.  She's been able to really build her home buisness up and has worked really hard.  The amount of relief it's offered her is incredible.

Please share all you feel comfortable with.  Inquiring minds want to know!Tongue

This is the one thing I haven't been willing to try. I had a friend who died from using them, although it is not entirely clear if she did this on purpose or if the med from the patch simply clouded her thinking to such an extent that she didn't really know what she was doing. I do know that since I suffer from depression, bi-polar, and several other mental 'disabilities', I won't be trying this. I have heard from other patients using this who have also had VERY close calls from it, and also reports of death written about on some medical sites I use. I'm just saying PLEASE be very careful using this. If it really helps you, and you excersise total caution, then it is probably a good thing for you. However, I would like you to check out the pros and cons on such sites as WebMd, or Dr. Weil, or even the Mayo Clinic website.  Please keep us posted as to your experience after you have used it for a while.

I just type a full-page response to you, but my daughter called and I tried open my doc.s and lost everything.

Hope the general reply to all, answers any questions you have.

Thank you for the heads up about your friend but I (as I stated in my

Response) I take very low doses of everything.

But I will check out the links you suggested.
