Morning fog

By Chuck Murray Friday, December 21, 2007

Talkin 'bout brain fog.

The last 2 nights I've hardly slept at all.

Last night I was up and down so much at 4 am I stayed

up, my wife gets up at 430am to go to work so, at least I

got to see her off for her day.

Don't know If I slept on it wrong or what but, my left arm was

dead as a post no feeling what so ever and cold.

That might have been what woke me, after a couple minutes the pins and

needles set in and it was back.

Cold and rainy here today so, I may give up the walk for a nap.

Chuck

It's a new year
12/21/07 4:08pm

Hey Chuck

I'm sorry to hear of your foggy brain.  I've not been on the puter for over 24 hours and finally decided that I had to get up.  Not sleeping well, Pain is high, fatigue is overwhelming and my whole body feels shakey and weak.

Just what I needed a flare, this close to xmas.

I've got to get dressed and run to town, to get a gift for my elderly friend shipped to Australia.  I've been supposed to do it all week and forgot it the other day, was down yesterday and I'm still bad, but I've got to get it done today before the PO closes.

I know I've been overdoing it and should of stopped myself, but gosh, I just hate having to stay so still on days that I do feel good, but now I'm thinking it was dumb of me to do it this close to xmas.  I normally can get to the day after xmas and then I crash, didn't work that way this year.

I hope you can get your nap today and get some sleep tonight.  I struggled all night long with trying to sleep.  My lower back and hips were on fire all night so I didn't get much myself.

Hope you come out of your brain fog and pain funk soon.

Take Care my pain brother

Friend Betty,

I do so hope that you got your errands finished and your into recovery mode.

I finally came out of the fog in the afternoon, didn't get the nap though.

For some reason it's hard for me sleep

during the day no matter how tired I am,

sometimes the pills take me out but, that's

about the only way.

But, I survived.

At least I haven't had to go wally world in the last few days and that always good.

Hope you feel better soon.

Chuck my pain brother

I'm happy to hear your doing better too. I'm very happy that it was only 24 hrs down in pain & misery and not having to stay down for too many days.

Was up early with hubby and off to the mall, as soon as my meds got my pain down enough to get in the tub and get dressed.  Whew!  We're done finally

We're back in bed early and going to watch Home Alone 2 for the bazillionth time.

Merry Christmas

Betty

Friend Betty,

My daughter and I watched the same movie,

since they were running it back to back.:)

That's ok I geuss.

Yea, without my morning meds it would be

a REAL long day for me too.

Today I think we're in all day. I'm a

little worried about my sister she has fibro and some other troubles and she was down yesterday.

I've tried to get her to our board here but,

so far I've not been successful. It would be

great if we had an invite function that we could some one an email from here, with the link already in it.

 Hope she's better today.

Enjoy your sunday,

chuck

Chuck

I'm so sorry to hear about your sister too.  I'm back down in a zeroenergy & pain again today.  I guess I pushed to much on Fri&Sat shopping with my husband and now I'm back in miserable shape.

I had my husband wake me at 9am, I layed there til 10, then drug myself out in my recliner, fell back asleep until 2pm.  Gosh this is misery.

I only have a few thinks to do, but I may not even get them done.  My husband may be opening his presents from the shipping boxes.  OH Well, he won't care.

Do you have morning & night meds or something in between?  I have a noon med to take too, so it helps me through the day when the morning dose gets low, that's normally when I have breakthroughs too.

When the fatigue takes over, I'm afraid there's just nothing that helps though.

We have stayed in all day and my husband is taking care of the fudge and a couple things I wanted to get baked done, so I thank him for that.  I am just trying to get my self awake and do some piddleing around here.  My laptop is really nice and I love it.

Take Care Big Brother

Hope all are happy and well at your house

Friend Betty,

Hope your sunday was restfull, my power chair/recliner is my favorite spot and where I spend most of my time.

I have my lap top on a tv table right here and of course the big screen(my constant companion:))

Yea, i usually have a tramadol and a lortab at 1230 after my walk. A lot of times it puts for a while but, for the relief it's worth it.

Then evening at 8 I have tramadol, volaren, lortab, and metformin for diabetes.

At bedtime is when I get the soma, with out it I wouldn't get any sleep.

I stayed in mostly today, tomorrow we gather at my sister's house - time I get in from there I'll be done for. But, it's worth it to hang out with my brother and sis. It's just us now so we try to get together whenever we can. She's still feeling kind a bad and her husband and daughter give her no support what so ever. It really gets to me sometimes.

Anway,

You and yours have a nice quiet evening and enjoy your christmas.

Chuck, my dear friend

I really hope you and your family have a wonderful xmas eve together and a merrry xmas morning around your tree with your children.

We are heading out to my inlaws soon, just  as we have for the past 27 years on xmas eve.  My mil is the greatest cook and also has the greatest xmas cookies and treats, so I look forward to having some goodies and chow.  I don't drink anymore for obvious reasons, so I will probably need to drive my hubby home, he likes to have a few totties on xmas eve and now that we don't have little ones, he can do that.  We'll have a wonderful time visiting with his family and his two sisters families too.  I think I will find a nice place to sit down and stay put for awhile.  Not feeling too sharp and struggling to make it.  But I'm dressed and thats the worst battle of all.  Be sure to get pictures with your family and maybe we can all share some xmas pictures or some thing fun like that.  I got a new camera last summer and have really enjoyed the digital capabilities and using my pictures on the PC.

Merry Christmas toyou and your family

Take Care my dear friend and don't over do it.

Warm hugs and well wishes for you all

Betty

Friend Betty,

Your sister sounds a lot like mine.

We had some good food, awsome treats and a surprise visit from my uncle(dad's brother).

I did over did it as usual, couple hours late on the evening meds. But, like always it was well worth it.

The magic elixir is starting to have effect so I'll cut this short and say Merry low pain Christmas.

Chuck

What a wonderful surprise to see your dads brother.  I'm really happy you had a good time with your family.

My night began with high pain & horrible fatigue, but I took my night meds a little early with a dose of BT meds to boot and after I arrived and sat on my mil's couch for an hour or so, my pain dropped down and I was finally low enough to enjoy some great food and wonderful treats (I'm now stuffed) and we had a really nice visit.  Got home a little later than normal, but it was not a big deal, it was wonderful to visit and I was glad that I forced myself to just get ready and go.  There was a time this afternoon, that I felt maybe I should not even try and go, but I knew that my hubby & son would be very disappointed if I was not with them and so I managed and did not have to take any of the extra meds that I had taken with incase I needed some additional help.

It's getting late, but I wanted to sit in bed with my new puter and make sure and respond to my friends.

Big hugs to you and your family. I'm very thankful that you had a good time too.

Take care

Betty

I guess it was you that I saw in the halls!  I too was up with pain and finally took something for it it. I use deverstional therapy-I watch the TV!  My dog sits up with me as company as she is now infact!  This is repeat night, and I need to get my husband up for work shortly.  How do you kill your time, anyone.  I'm open for new suggestions!

O Baby 8

12/30/07 7:14am

Yeah, it probably was me.

Lets see diversions---internet,read, flight sim(when I can sit in the chair), tv is a big part of my life, ps3 is real high on the list.

Days when I can stand I like to bake, usually my daughter does it for me though.

chuck

ps.. love your screen name

1/ 2/08 2:45am

Chuck,

O Baby was a name my girlfriend called when I was in alot of pain!  When I tell my husband it is an 'O Baby day!' I needn't say anymore, He knows how high the pain!

How is your new year so far?

1/ 2/08 8:16am

Good Morning,

I see by the time of your post that you're a night owl too, my pain makes me keep some strange hours too sometimes.

I've kinda got used to it over the years.

I'm fortunate in that both of my kids are grown and they take care of me instead of the other way around:)

So far '08 feels a lot like '07!

I do have one thing to look forward too, was approved for ssdi in december so, I may get a paycheck for the first time in almost two years.

How 'bout you?

Did you have a big party as the ball dropped??

Being over the hill I just watched on tv with my daughter.

Chuck

1/ 3/08 8:35pm

The big ball dropped with a toast of the bubblies of the new year. I watched with my service dog Precious, as My beloved and two  friends bowled a few games!  I watch others enjoy themselves as I do it vicariously!  Last night I paced the halls for a short time and returned to bed.

My husband and I went to one small store, and went for a drive to get hockey tickets for the 19th with our friends.  I will need to prepare my back for 10 days with rest before I go to the game.  For now, after the hour trip yesterday, my back is |@#$%^&*()_+is a #10. I will the the TENS unit Embarassed or the heating pad!  I swear I make love to the heating pad [daily] more than I do my husband!  Ha Ha, a distant memory but I thank God our love re-mains!  Some days and nights I just pace!  How about some TV diversion now!

See you in the hallways!
