I just bought a book called ; Taking Control of TMJ. by Robert O. Uppgaard, D.D.S.
It is a 'must' read. He takes a whole body approach to relieving
the symptoms of TMJ/Fibromyalgia.
There are many case studies of his patients and he goes into detail on
the treatment plans that he had put them on. Some have had Splints
where as some didn't need them.
He also has great checklists where you can check your symptoms, bad
habits, and steps to take to be more aware of the contributing factors
which tend to aggravate the disorder.
He also goes into detail on jaw/neck/head exercises to do to help with
jaw function, and other overall body exercises to stretch the muscles in
your back, and legs, along with proper breathing exercises.
I related to a LOT of the bad habits he mentions in the book!! I couldn't
believe I actually do these things unconsciously!
Wishing Eeryone a Painfree Day!
