Linda:

I am sorry you couldn't take cymbalta.  It has saved me so to speak, I used to cry cry cry, for no reason and the cymbalta has helped considerably with the depression.

I recently tried a newer drug called "Savella".  It helped considerably, but as soon as my tritation pack 2 week sample was up my insurance wanted pre=approval...Before I had pharmacy get this from my doc I decided the one side effect wasn't worth (to me) the relief of the achyness(sp).  I normally sweat quite abit from the pain meds(pump, oxy oral) but the sweating from this drug was almost to the hysterical point, I was soaking went all the time.  You may not have this side effect, it may be worth trying.

Good Luck, and God Bless

Hi I sure know what the sweating thing is all about with trying 40 different meds. After being on Cymbalta from Nov 2004 to march 2008. I had to get off. The sweating. It helped the phantom pain for a couple years. It took a year that i was all clammy. Hard to explain. I couldn't move without being wet, cold, but hot. So different then getting sweaty from the meds. I was going insane. I am on lyrica now. PRAY PRAT I don't gain weight. It's helped my phantom pain alot. As it is i only eat 500-650 calories to maintain. Wish i could eat more. I am an above knee amputee but so much more-68 operations, 23 broken bones. Read my profile. Why won;t you try lyrica? I would like to switch to topamax. Don't think it helps as much.

Hi Snowgo,

Thank you for writing, I did try Lyrica, no go.... it made me so sick,  I am on Nortriptyline now, giving that a chance, will be upping my dose soon, and see what happens, i will read your profile later as I am not feeling too well, have been out of commission for over a week now and have not been on my computer,( not a F.M. flare,) Thank you very much for your comment. Linda
