Have you heard Dr. Krusz that they are not implanting intrathecal pumps anymore at all?

For the first year and a half I had Morphine in the pump and my body became imune to it and it was changed to dilaudid and it was good for three years, recently it had to be changed again. this time to Fentyal and it is working great again. In October it is due to be changed due to the battery and Medtronic and my Dr. both assure me that only certain pumps were recalled and thank goodness mine is not on the recall list. I spent over 20 years praying for God to take me out of the pain and agony I was living in after having 11 Laminectomies and three spinal fusions that failed. I then found a wonderful pain clinic in New Jersy and an amazing doctor there who first tried all the nerve blocks and also the spinal cord stimulator which didn't touch my pain. He then suggested the pump and I was scared to death to try it but had no choices left. It was the best thing I ever did. My pain has now been controled to a point that I am fairly comfortable most of the time. I do still have some breakthrough pain at times and with added medication that I take only then, I am able to live a good life and enjoy my grandchildren as I wanted to do for so long. I do not ever feel high or drugged like I did before the pump with all the meds I took. Anyone concerned about the recall should contact Medtronics directly and get all the facts. They are very nice and have answered many concerns that I have had the past four and a half years.

My husband had a morphine pump and is now partially paralized because of it. Ihaven't seen anything about a recall. Please give me any info you can about this.
