Friday, July 17, 2009 at 06:54 PMThanks for your comment.

I am still waiting for the second round of P.A.'s (prior Auth.) I have been told the meds Celebrex and Lryica are both very expensive this is why its taking sometime. Nothing more has been said about the whole having to be 60 years old. Just sounds like it may have been some sort of confusion and/or the fact that 'they' know its going to take some time for this darn thing to go through. My Doc has to prove to the Gov.(I have Medicare) that I do indeed need it. <ggrrr> 'They' do not want to pay for it, even though I not only pay a monthly premium but also a stupid co-pay.

I'll let ya know what happens...thanks again for your comment.

Saturday, July 25, 2009 at 01:10 AMHello everyone and thanks for listening and commenting. Just wanted to let you know I finally got the P.A.'s and the med's 'went through'. My husband picked them up today and I started today...I must say WOW..I got really dizzy from the Lyrica, not so much from the Celebrex. I have been taking 2 Tramadol's every 4 hrs. for about 3-4 years now, maybe thats why, who knows..

I read somewhere that it will take sometime before these acually start to work on the pain. If anyone out there is taking this stuff could let me know how long it will take before I feel any type of relief. Thank's again for listening

Thursday, October 08, 2009 at 02:38 AMI have to add I have never heard of the age limit comment, I have been on both meds and I am in my 50s.
The celebrex was great for my pain and I may ask my doctor to put me back on it. The lyrica was good for the burning pain I was having and helped me to sleep better. I had other problems with lyrica. Lyrica made me tired in the beginning and then made me feel like I was 100 years old.
I was just thinking you might be having the dizziness from stopping the tramadol aburptly.
Be careful with the lyrica, it causes what Icall mindless eating. I was craving something but never could figure it out. I just kept eating trying to find what I was craving. I gained 8 lbs in one month.

Thursday, October 08, 2009 at 03:24 AMI am doing well and some what better now. So much better in fact my Doc has 'up'ed' my dose of Lyrica from 1-2 pills at night. Good thing i take them at night, do tend to make me sleepy, like you mentioned. I have had good luck for the pain with Celebrex as well, but also still taking my Tramadol too, so who knows....
I have not had any problems like you mentioned with eating , although it may be because I really can't eat well anyways due to other health issue, so its a good thing I guess....
Thank's so much for commenting and

I've never heard of such a thing. I know Lyrica is prescribed for adults of all ages. And Celebrex is given to juvenile arthritis patients, so 40 certainly wouldn't be too young. They don't recommend Celebrex for people over 65 becasue of increased risk for severe gastrointestinal problems. Could Medicaid have your age wrong? It doesn't make any sense to me. I'd pursue it and try to find out what they're talking about.
Good luck to you!
