Can anyone find me a Doctor Please

By belinda Monday, December 10, 2007

I just got back from the er again and this time I was so infected. I went to a neuro. friday and come to fine out he will be leaving in Jan. How much worse can it get. his name is John anderson and had no recommendations because he said he was leaving etc etc. He said he only does surgerys and no pain management and could not help. So I am in a mess over and over. The er doctor gave me a list of some family doctors but they are not taking any new patients. Most in this area are affraid of the dea stuff. I live in a county(harnett county nc) and not even a doctor that understands english here.I am so affraid i will be without medicine dec.26th that is my last of my medicines. I need a miracle. anyone I have researched an nothing My husband and I are at our ends. The emg test shows permanent nerve damage and that was because the last doctor did not do anything but let me lay in hospital 3 weeks and sent me home when the mri showed I had a severe bulging disks. The neuro. said if that doctor would of sent me to him then that I would not have the permanent damage. I know I know I have contacted an attorney but what I need is a doctor to help me with my medicines now. thank you all for being here for me.

I really wish there was more we could do, I've searched around the American Pain foundation and found these links that you can try.  I would recomend calling the foundation, explain your situation and see if they can get you hooked up with a doctor that may help you in your area or at least your state.  Or at the least give you some suggestions on where you can turn to next.

I truely cannot even think of a bigger problem for any chronic pain patient.  I wish there was a way to send you an angel to lead you to the best doctor ever and I really do hope you can find someone soon.

I sure when you call, you probably want to get to the point and find out if they prescribe your type of meds, but I just have a feeling that their receptionist may be told not to tell anyone over the phone, whether or not they will prescribe opiate pain relievers.  So you may want to really give this some thought and maybe try a new approach.

I know you don't have time to mess around with all kinds of apts, just to be told that they don't treat pain patients, but you may have to go in and be able to look a doctor in the eye and have him actually be able to check your records out and evaluate your pain, for you to get your foot in the door at all.

I know this sounds unreasonably frustrating, but just being a chronic pain patient is also one of the most irritating, frustrating and maddening conditions I can think of.

My personal peeve, is that other people have such control on my life and without them I cannot get out of bed, just as you.  I absolutely hate the control doctors have on us and hate having to play by everyones rules, but it's just a fact of life for us.

I read through your other post, to see what suggestions you've already tried and could not really tell, if you had or not, so I hope I'm not irritating you further with redundant information and I do hope and pray you can find some help.  No one deserves to be treated as you have and you'll be in my prayers.
