November 22/07

By carnie Thursday, November 22, 2007
Well my pain today is bad.  I finally got some sleep the last two nights, which was drug induced, but I will take it any way I can get it.  My neck and shoulders hurt so bad the past few days, I could barely turn my head when driving.  :( Spiritually and emotionally I am doing great, not depressed at all... just hoping my body could catch up with my mind.  ~Carnie

Hello Carnie

It's nice to meet you!

It' sounds kind of like a flare coming on.  I cannot believe how much sleep can have to do with the pain we FM patients are under.

I normally only get the neck, shoulder, chest pain the worst during or at the beginning of a very bad flare.

Do you have severe insomnia too?  I have such a tough time getting to sleep, once I finally do,as long as I don't have any noise or reason to awake early on, I can normally get a few hours of decent sleep.  I cannot imagine being able to work 5 hours a day though, you must be really working hard to continue working.

I'm a mom of two boys too, and a house full of male animals.  It's great to be queen of your home huh!Tongue

I saw your pictures of the boys, very handsome young men, I bet your proud.

good to have you here with us, hope to see you around when your able.

Take care

I'm so glad you are in good spirits, I've found that can make a big difference.  I know what you mean about driving & having to turn your whole body to look over your shoulder because your neck is too stiff to move - & I'm hypermobile! Be well & don't over do it.  So glad you are getting rest, what a blessing that is!  I live in OR & the weather was 17* at one point today, I get so stiff in the cold, even being indoors.  Hot tubs & our hot water bills should be tax deductable medical expenses I think!  Nice to meet you & I hope your body recovers with the rest you are getting.  ~kat

Welcome to the site

I read on your profile that you have Fibromyalgia. I do as well, I was diagnosed a year ago. Feel free to email any time you want. I'm always happy to chat and help.

Hugs,

But, I had to laugh (not at you, with you) as the only sleep I have had for years has been drug induced.  It is what it is.. the body gets some rest and that's the most important thing.  I don't take any sleep meds, per-se, but some muscle relaxants work pretty well, too... as long as I have as many as needed by the end of the day!  Good luck with it!  Anne
