Pet Therapy or Sometimes a Human is Just Not Enough

By Barbara Kivowitz Wednesday, November 21, 2007

As Thanksgiving approaches, I wanted to share a special source of inspiration with this community. Sometimes, when my pain would take me to very dark places, places neither my husband or friends could reach, my dog would come and find me and bring me back.

Here is a posting on my blog about the power of a good dog:

Thank you for sharing your pet therapy with us.  I to am blessed to have my own little pack of therapy friends, we have four dogs and they are my best pals.  I'm home alone a great deal of time and they are always there for me.

I wanted to share a picture of my guys as they lay here with me while I'm on the computer, but for some reason, could not get it to work.

Thanks for sharing your little one with us though.  He/She's a cutie!

Thanks and Happy Thanks Giving!

I also have experienced that when I'm at my worst, it's as if they know it, my little one wouldn't leave my side, practically coming in the bathroom with me even.  They are kind reminders that someone cares & needs us & do a good job helping to bring us back from the darkness.  In addition to 2 dogs, I also have a bird & enjoy watching my husband's salt water fish tank.
