a gift of nature

By lakeboysgirl Sunday, December 09, 2007

I walked my pup this morning like every other morning to stretch out the pain in my body and to enjoy the companionship and the unconditional love of my puppy. But today was different, special , a gift of nature.

The sky was grey, that of a summer storm, but the sun shone through. The trees in all their glory were brilliant shades of yellow, red and orange. It was so quiet like a lazy Sunday morning. I could only hear the birds busily gathering food to strengthen their bodies for winters journies. They sounded so pleased when I walked past a large tree covered in fruit. I walked in awe, filling all my senses with this precious memory, forgetting for a time of my pain and daily struggles with just life's basics. It was the feeling I get when I walk in nature while camping. A wonderful feeling of belonging in nature. A feeling of oneness with the world a feeling that so alludes me in my daily life. I wanted to touch it, to hold it , to keep it with me forever. I am not pain ! I am a part of natures beauty.

Thank you for sharing that with us.  Made me want to grab my coat, hat, scarf and lease and tell my pup to comon.  Instead I'm stuck in the house, the fire's going, it's snowing hard outside and my puppy is laying right here beside me on the floor, keeps looking up with his kind brown eyes, looks content to just be laying here in the warm house.

If I get up, he leaps to his feet and follows me to see what I'm going to do.  He comes outside to get every piece of wood to keep our fire burning and runs back in the door in time to shake the snow off his back and we start all over again.Big Smile

Thank you for sharing your morning with us.

Take care

Betty

I just don't know what I'd do without all my kids.  We have 4 babies here.

I am mainly house bound and my husband works very long hours at his job, so they are my constant companians and we both love them all very much.

Hope your day is going good, I'm having a better day and that feels amazing.

Take care

Betty
