Tired, hurting & scared!

By cyberchar Saturday, January 26, 2008

I have rheumatoid arthritis, degenerative disc disease, cirrhosis of the liver, and kidney failure. Not a happy combination of symptoms! Since in June the doctors discovered my kidneys were only at 20%, my doctor feels that I am trying to set my hopes for pain relief too high. That a 20% (there's that 20% again!) reduction of pain is all I can hope for with both my kidney & liver failing.  Before I took oxycontin, 80 mg 3x day, morphine, 15 mg 4x day, fentanyl patch, 100 mg, and Lyrica 270 mg daily.

I am now taking methodone, 10 mg, 4x day and morphine 4x day. Obviously it doesn't take care of all, or most, of the pain. The doctor, however, told me at my first appointment after I left the hospital that my prognosis was grim, I had maybe 5 years left to live. So now I hurt, I have chronic anemia from the RA, my white count is up, spleen is swollen, and I'm scared. I am 56. I didn't plan on not being able to watch my little 2 year old granddaughter grow up and that hurts more than all the pain.

Please, any suggestions?

I found this website trying to help a friend whose 15 year old daughter suffers from chronic pain and no one can find any answers.

I am so sad for you and I pray for you. I hope can find comfort in the Lord.

I can not pretend to even know how you must feel about your granddaughter and the possibility you may not be here to watch her grow up, I wanted to say I'm sorry for your pain and pray you find peace during this precious time.

Pain is the hardest to bear, and the not knowing. I feel for your situation. Sometimes just doing something on your own gives you the sense that you have some control again. I would like to suggest that the body can heal itself, if it is given the right nutrition. Doctors are not trained in nutrition, so they cannot help you with this. They have given you the worst outcome because their medicines can do no more for you! So turn to the food that has been provided for you on this incredible planet.

Unfortunately, our food suppy is greatly impacted by agricultural and processing industry practices. Consequently, our personal diets are often devoid of the nutrients that we most need for healing. Just taking a multi vitamin-mineral (as espoused by the AMA in 2002) is not enough. We simply eat too many processed foods and still don't get nutrients in the real food that we eat anyway; and let's not get into the toxins which are all around us. Look around, you are not alone. Too many of us are too sick for our age.

I have many clients who have benefited from taking glyconutrients. Because of the "green harvest" (fruits and veges are picked green, 10 days before they are set to ripen) fruits and vegetables are devoid of these essential nutrients which our parents ate. These nutrients are ESSENTIAL for cellular communication, (4 Nobel Prizes have been awarded for the scientific research on cellular communication) for proper healing responses of the body to disease and other assaults. I cannot tell you that you will be able to cure any disease with these nutrients, however, there is plenty of scientific evidence to show that when these nutrients are added to your diet, your body is able to heal itself.

When these nutrients are deficient the first thing that we notice is fatigue, the second thing is pain. Glyconutrients help with both. If you do this one thing for yourself, you are taking back your control. Don't let someone else tell you when you will die. Will it for yourself that you will see your grandchildren grow up, or die trying!

Blink Martha, thank you so much for your kind post. Can these nutrients be purchased in vitamin form? Here in the midwest any 'fresh' fruits and vegetables won't be available for a few months, and that's if it stops snowing any time soon.  Last spring & summer, I craved tomatoes -the ones still on the vine, and watermelon so much that my sons already knew when I called them what I needed. Of course they are both juicy and I am on fluid restriction so that could be part of it, but I suspect it was also my body trying to get the nutrients you speak about.

I also have chronic disease anemia which, along with everything else, I'm sure contributes to my fatigue. That was when I realized just how important it is to see the same medical practitioner, either doctor or PA each time. Mine can take one look and know if I'm more anemic than usual.

Martha, you sound so knowledgable could you perhaps answer a question for me? I don't understand why our bodies produce ammonia in the first place since it is so deadly. My last blood tests showed that mine had jumped from 19 to 34. At that high a rate, I get confused easily and feel almost certain I am getting early onset Alzheimers. The Lactolose helps some but at quite a price to my nausea and cramping.  Is there anything else that could help rid my body of the ammonia that is continuing to build?  Thank you for all your information and your kindness.

Cyberchar,

YES! you do remember the sweet taste of a tomatoe from the vine...that is the taste of glyconutrients. They are available in powder or capsule form from www.mannatech.com/mlbush. Unfortunately, green harvest has stolen all of that essential sweetness from us and our body craves it still. The first sign that we are deficient is fatigue and the second is pain. Those friends and family who have tried the nutrients  expienced relief in both those areas, enough so that they can function again in their lives with those they love. Take care and keep in touch.
