Unbelievable Dr. Kicks to the Curb!

By ljhemi Tuesday, March 24, 2009

Hey y'all!  Here is my latest entry in the Unbelievable Dr. Saga - Ms. Unbelievable actually kicked me to the curb for filing a grievance against her for her office policies!!  I went to my appt. last week and after waiting 45 min. in the waiting room (by myself!!), she finally called me back.  When I sat down, she asked me how I was doing.  I barely got anything out.  She opened my chart, saw the letter noting the grievance, and told me that she hoped that my PCM was referring me to another office.  I stated that we were looking for a neurology referral.  She said "That's good because I will no longer be seeing you. I no longer want anything to do with you because you reported me!"  She left the room and dropped my latest test results at the desk telling them to give me a copy and that she would no longer be seeing me as a patient.

I filed the grievance with the insurance co. right after the first incident.  They investigated and decided that there was no real issue - they could make their own policies.  Of course, the version the office staff gave was a little different from the one that really happened.  The insurance co. told me that they were sorry I felt humiliated and was welcome to look for another provider if I wished and they would assist with the referral.  After the last incident, I called Tricare once again and the lady was rather surprised to find out what the provider had done after the fact.  She said that she would be reporting it to be investigated further. I have not heard anything back on that yet, but I will certainly be calling back for further details.

I did contact an attorney's office this afternoon and told them the story.  They will look over the details, then let me know if there is anything further I can do.  I think this so-called doctor needs to be kicked to the curb herself for treating patients in this manner.

I will keep y'all informed of what's happening!

hi! finally "found you"!! i had a problem with the pain clinic i was going to, i HAD been going for almost 2 years and no results...in the beginning they put me on 150 mg. fentanyl patch 320 mg. oxy, well, like you probably heard on here i was like a zombie and rarely got out of bed, i was really concerned about taking so much meds, so i went off the oxy by myself SIN!!!!  when i went in for my next appt.  it was the standard "how are you doing, blah, blah, blah..when she started writing out my script for oxy, i told her not to bother, i went off it, because i thought it was too much meds, boy did she get pissed!!! obviously i am not supposed to put something in my body that i didn't think , ii should ....she had a meeting with "the team" and told me tthey would only prescribe 50 mg. fentanyl and i had to go thru all the injections, i had already gone thru, and didn't work, if i even wanted to get the fentanyl, well since i can't take the pain, without ANY kind of pain medication, i agreed,...after about a year , and a halff the fentanyl was just not working for me, i asked if i cold have something for the breakthru pain, she prescribed 1 (yes1) vicdin a day , i called her and said it just was not working, she THEN prescribed vicodin 1 4-6 hours daaily, worked fine. after one of my injections, the nurse "supposedly" prescribed vicodin for the pain after the injection, i never got , niether did my husband...oh soot someone is at the door...i am going to have to continue this saga later, if you care to hear Frown.. cindi ...sorryy

hi (again) my puter is acting funky, i was finishing my story and blank went my puter, so i don't know if you got what i wrote, but to cut to the chase...after my husband  called the pain clinic because they would't presscribe any breakthru meds, he told thhem i was crying every nite (which i didn't know he heard me, cuz i would sneak out of the bedroom and cry in privacy) he told thhem they had to do something that he couldn't take my cring anymore, because he couldn't help me. the administrator called and gave me her spiel and told me they were droppimg me from the program because i had messed up (by going off the oxy) and they wouldn't tolerate how my husband treated the staff!!!! now, if you knew my husband, he RARELY gets angry, but he did nothing a spouse wouldn't do for his/her spouse! what a bunch of crap.... i feel so bad for you, with your husband being deployed and you have to put up with this kind of crap!!! its bad eenuff that you are in pain and that your husband is leaving ( thank your husband for being "one of the good guys" and you have to pput up with such  idocy!! and then to charge you for the visit, omg!!!! i was reading some of your replies and i really got angry with the one reply you got from the one who was putting people down for taking narcotics, also. she's supposed to be "one of the commpassionate ones"????? i read no where in your ppost about putting people down for taking these, sometimes people HAVE to take them, i took my stand for stoping taking the oxy they prescribed for me because i thought it was too much and this iis MY body. eveeryone has different pain and this rating crap they have 1-10, how very stupid. PAIN IS PAIN and how can anyone expect you to rate it?? just how i feel about one of thier stupid rules. do thhey mean when you are taking the meds or when you are not, they would never give me a straight answer on that one. ...sorry, i keep going on and on, but now i have to find another pain clinic, and how do you know if they are going to be any different? and for you it must be so much harder liing on base (i think you said) hang in there, hon, keep your ead up and keep standing up for your rights!!!  cindi

You are not alone, at least that quack took the time to talk to you...My doctor of many years just sent me a letter stating that he no longer wanted to see or talk to me after making a ridiculous assumption on some issues of which he got in trouble for (not the first time for him).  I am a professional myself and asked to speak to him through a letter, but no he defamed my name with other doctors and did not even have the courtesy to discuss the issue at hand, " I am sueing him for defamation of character!"  We are not longer taking things lying down, I think they need to recognize that we are not just a number or a paycheck, but actual human beings with feelings and we are 'Fighting Back'!

You are lucky. It is better than you get a new doctor than to continue with one that treats you poorly. Over the last 17 years of getting psych treatment (I'm 31) I seen it all. I mean it all.

Most doctors are horrible. When you find a good one cherish them forever. I do. I have amazing doctors in my life.

Oh, by the way, I forgot to mention that this so called doctor not only kicked me to the curb, but told my other doctor that I was taking meds at the sme time that he was prescribing me the same thing.  Never mind that I gave him a copy of all the meds I was taking and in the timely manner that they were prescribed.  He not only lied and assummed the worst, he told me in a horrible letter that I should see a Pain Managment doctor, but I have been unable to find one that takes our Military Tricare.  I called to ask for advice on how to go about getting a Pain Managment Doctor and also what kind of doctor that was.  He told his nurse to tell me to look for one on the internet and not to call him again.  That's when I decided to sue his butt!!  If anyone knows of a good Pain Managment Doctor in Texas between Waco and Dallas, Ft. Worth, I could really use the help!  I would like to find a doctor that understands the pain I am going through on a daily basis and will listen to his/her patient and not just assume the worst.  I am in so much pain, I can't sleep and am taking BC powder like it was candy it doesn't even face the Chronic pain, much less the migraines.  I went to see another doctor that I found in the internet and he screamed and yelled that Fybromyalgia was crap! Imagine that! When I asked how he could explain my blood pressure being so high due to the pain.  He said that it looked like I had learned to live with it!  That was one of my very few and far between good days!!!
