Dealing with Chronic Pain During Special Occasions
Last week I told you that my three best friends from high school and I (aka The 4 Musketeers) were reuniting over the weekend and recreating one of our infamous slumber parties. (Keep in mind, our last slumber party was 40 years ago!) Several of you sent me good wishes for a healthy and happy time, which I greatly appreciated.
I just wanted to let you know the weekend was a complete success! Friday night we had our slumber party and managed to stay up until well past 3:30 a.m. laughing and talking. Fortunately, I had the good sense to rest Saturday afternoon––after which we went out to dinner and spent the rest of the evening together. We all had such a good time, we decided to make this an annual event.
Did the weekend take a toll on me? Yes, especially since I worked hard a couple of days before they came getting my house in order. But it was well worth the moderate increase in pain and fatigue through the first part of this week. You can’t put a price on friendship. And lifelong friends like these are truly precious.
