I'm Back!

By Karen Lee Richards, Health Guide Wednesday, June 02, 2010

You may have noticed that I haven't been answering questions or responding to private messages for the past week or two.  That's because I had to have surgery for a macular hole in my left eye.  Thankfully, the eye surgery was not painful, but I had to keep my head down – facing the floor – for a week after the surgery in order for the eye to heal properly.  I couldn't use my computer or read during that time.  It was boring and uncomfortable, but I got through it with the help of a specially designed mirror that enabled me to at least watch TV while looking down.

It's still difficult to read as my vision continues to be blurred, but they tell me that's normal and it will be a couple more weeks until I'll be able to see better.  Because of this, I can only work in short spurts.  I will be trying to gradually catch up so I hope you'll bear with me.

My thanks to our site producer, Chris Regal, and our experts Dr. Christina Lasich and Cort Johnson for their extra work while I was out.

It's good to be back!
