Goodnighties Recovery Sleepwear: A Product Review

By Karen Lee Richards, Health Guide Tuesday, June 22, 2010
Getting a good night's sleep is one of the most important factors in treating fibromyalgia, but it is also one of the most difficult to accomplish.  So when I saw a press release for Goodnighties®, a new sleepwear for women that claimed to help improve sleep quality, I was intrigued. ...

Sounds good, but where's the "studies" they claim to have?

They are pricey to just try without seeing something.

Hi Gia,

I appreciate your skepticism.  I felt the same way.  When I was looking into the product, Goodnighties sent me a document that listed 77 studies used in researching and developing the fabric.  I just didn't want to make the review too long, so I didn't go into detail about them.  If you'll send me a private message with your e-mail address, I'll be happy to send you a copy of the document.  (Please don't put your e-mail address here.)

Karen I believe in you, I know that you can read studies,  reviews, better than most here but......I spent so much money on that monster that is chronic pain to find something that can help me, and that was not working that I became a chronic skeptic. This sound too good to be true. I would like to see some of their document on their research, hubby is a engineer and can go through papers better than I.

2 years ago I did buy some special nighties for "middle age women with broken thermostat" I always complain about mine.

It was nice to wear but I still woke up in a puddle. They told me that it was not supposed to. Maybe my case was too severe night sweat, it was why it was not working .....they even did not respect their "guaranty or money back" #$%^&

Marie.

P.s. I will send you and email.

Hi Marie – I don't blame you a bit for being skeptical.  I was, too.  All I can tell you is what I've experienced, which for me has been somewhat amazing.  My night sweats were not that severe, so your situation might be different than mine.  I have talked to one lady who had pretty bad night sweats that said she no longer has them since she started wearing the Goodnighties. I've looked at other sleepwear that claims to be made of a wicking fabric that is supposed to help night sweats, but they don't have the negative ions built into the fabric, which I think makes a big difference.

For me, the best thing has been the improvement in the quality of sleep I'm getting.  I awaken feeling refreshed, which is something I hadn't experienced in many years – since developing fibromyalgia.  The pain relief has also been quite wonderful – and surprising.

Just send me a private message with your e-mail and I'll be glad to send you the studies for you and your husband to look over. – Karen

I'm really interested in the sleepwear also - and in the same situation.  My husband is an engineer and leery of spending this kind of money for what sounds like a fad to him.  I'd like to give him the study if that's possible.  I have just found this site and really like it.

Karen,  I just want to thank you so much for telling me (and others) about Goodnighties!  You are absolutely correct with your review.. !  OMG - I feel like I have had a face lift!  It's so nice to have a deep sleep- such a 'treat'! - it helps me then to be able to cope and manage my  FM pain 100% better!   After reading your review that a friend sent to me,  I immediately ordered a set (long pant/3/4 sleeve top) and after just the first night I could tell a marked difference!   I was also amazed at how comfortable and non-binding this fabric is!  Goodnighties are really special and others need to know about it!  I'm spreading the word! :)   thanks again!

I'm so glad to hear you love Goodnighties as much as I do, Lisa!  I never would have believed a pair of pajamas could make such a big difference, but they really do.  Thanks for sharing your experience! – Karen

Well, it would be  nice if they made them in larger sizes...I wear a 5x, so I'm out of luck with them.

AND - my husband is the one with the severe pain from fibromyalgia..so unless he wants to wear women's pjs to bed, I guess he's out of luck! (although honestly, if he could find a pair of them that would fit, I wouldn't care if he wore women's pj's or not, if they would really give him a decent night's rest and relief from some of his pain!)

I'll pass your interest in larger sizes and men's pjs on to Goodnighties.  They're still a very new company and I know they hope to do something for men in the future.  There are some men who do wear the women's Goodnighties.  They're a pretty basic style – not frilly – so if they order them in chocolate or black, they don't look too feminine.  But I understand that size is still an issue.  Hopefully as the company grows, they'll be able to make something that will work for everyone.

Karen

Thank you so much for sharing your favorites and especially the news about Nighties.  I've searched the net, stores and purchased about a million different night gowns, pajamas, loungewear, sweats outfits and anything else that I can wear comfortably and or even try to wear in public.

The past year I've been suffering the most horrendous night & day sweats, hot flashes or what ever they are called.  Some days I can barely stand it and at night I'm sweating and soaking my sheets, while at the same time I'm shivering & chilled.  It's as though I have a fever, but don 't have one and actually my body temp now (since FM began) runs about 96 to 97.7 *  I've not had a normal temp in nearly two years.  I have a difficult time explaining this to the medical providers I see, that when I'm sick or running a normal temp or slightly above, it's actually a fever for me.

I've always been a bit of a fanatic with my personal hygene.  I've never had a problem with sweating much, even when it's a very hot day and I'm out in 80-90* weather.  I've also got a phobia of ever smelling bad, so this sweating problem has been a horrible issue for me.

I created an acct at the Nighties website and plan on ordering a set very soon.  Thank you for sharing with us, I'm sure there are others with chronic illnesses who must have some of the same skin sensitivities that we suffer from.

God Bless Dear Friend

Betty
