I, too, would be interested in knowing of a reputable DVD for Tai Chi. When I recently was undergoing some physical therapy, I don't think I was believed when I said that I could not remember the exercises I was supposed to do. I have severe fibromyalgia and felt very demeaned.
I asked for the exercises on paper.
Thank you for your postings. They are very helpful. I also like reading the readers' comments.
I read the research article, and found an inexpensive Tai Chi dvd at Walmart. I started and in the beginning lasted about five minuets. I soon realized (several weeks) I was gaining strength in my thighs, and I felt better through out the day. I continue to work in an home office environment so my exercise was nil. I am still doing this many months later, and when I miss a week, I realize I need it to stay flexible and to fill better. I am not using any medications, but watch my diet closely and eliminate processed foods, particularly msg. I sleep better at night and have more energy, sometimes I deny to myself that I have fibro and then it excerbates. I have had eight months of free fibro, until 4 weeks ago, but I had also neglected doing the dvd....and cheated quite a bit on my diet, eating sugar from a b'day party and food from take out. I am working hard to get back on track now.
If you find a good instructional DVD, please post it. I've wanted to try it but the classes in my are are expensive and take place at times that are difficult for me to manage. DVD might be just the ticket!
