Karen

I am sharing your joy.  Once you share your home with a loving animal partner it is impossible to live in an empty home again.  Your babies look beautiful.  You now get to enjoy their antics and watch them as they grow-up and they don't leave the home when they do.  It is one of the most wonderful experiences.

I know you still miss Slippers and Jake ... but Nugget and Patrick will help you deal with those emotions.  Slippers and Jake are still with you and glad that you now the youngsters to keep you smiling.

Having them truly does help deal with the pain.  My cats help me everyday.  On the toughest days on of them will do something that will make me laugh or one will come up to me and smooze my face and that gives me the strength to see what I have and not dwell on what I don't.

So enjoy and have fun with Nugget and Patrick.

Thanks so much for sharing.

I'm thrilled for you that you have found it in your heart to share your home and your love with some new kitties. Those of us who love animals know the pain of losing them. For such little critters, they sure carve out big places in your heart; and that leaves a big hole when they leave us. We never replace them; there will always be places in your heart clearly marked for Slippers and Jake. But now 2 new kitties get to enjoy your home. Nugget and Patrick just hit the jackpot.

Just read your story about your Kittens. Sorry too hear that you lost two of them.  I lost my Cuddles in Sept.. He was afraid of everything.  My grand daughters brought there Border Collie for a visit and that was the last time I saw him.

He came to me very sick. I took him to the vet and got him some meds and nursed him back to health, and he stole my heart.  Like you with your cats he had me laughing all the time.  Now that I think of it, I think I will get me another Cuddles.  Before reading your story all I thought about was the pain, but I bet there is a cat out there who needs someone to love him.

Congratulations on your new babies!  They are beautiful!  I will post a picture if I get brave enough to go through with this.

Hi Rita,

I'm sorry to hear about Cuddles.  I know how much you must miss him.  But I do hope you find another kitty to love.  Pets we have loved and lost will always hold a special place in our hearts, but our hearts are big enough to love again.  The shelters are full of abandoned kitties that need someone to love them.  I pray you and the kitty meant for you find each other soon.  – Karen

I am very happy for you. Pets are so important in our lives.

I did not look for one since I lost my last cat. I miss the presence of furry ball but right now we are very busy with a very sick grandbaby, there is so much traveling to do ( more pain ) I will see to it when things gets quiet.

But still I miss it.

Hugs Marie

Dear Karen,

Thank you for sharing your story with us, I had to laugh about Nugget and Patrick. I remember you saying you had lost your two prior, but didnt want to ask you how, I am so happy for you now. There is a book out called "When your pet dies" ( i cant remember the author.. sry) however it is a great book for us animal lovers that do lose their loved ones,.. But congrats on your new bundles of fur. Although we know they will never take the place of our loves prior it does fill a MAJOR void. PETS OFFER UNCONDITIONAL LOVE, and the only people that can understand that are us pet owners and they also are not affraid to cuddle up with us, maybe a lil lick on the nose, and those deep adorable eyes that SOMEHOW KNOW when we are hurting... and our lil best friends or as i call them,...... two year olds in fur coats, make our lives much more full filling.. good luck with your new bundles of fur balls,, lol...ps) there actually is a video out for cats,, i suggest you get it, and put it in your dvd player while your working on your writing, that way it will keep the kids away from your key board...gl.. Hi Linda – Thanks for telling me about the video for cats.  Sounds fascinating.  I'll try to find it.  And I appreciate your good wishes for me, Patrick and Nugget.  They've already made my life so much more fun!  – Karen
