My brother had RA and rheumatic fever when he was five. His joints all swelled up so he had to wear elevated shoes when he learned to walk. His knees , feet and hands all became enlarged. He spent one year st Scottish Rite hospital in Atlanta. He graduated college and had a career in the government. He passed away at 56 of a heart attack. He had both hips replaced and his RA went inot remission later in life.
