Already very difficult to have a "simple " dx of pain because of the time involved. Imagine barcoding a pt !!!

What are they going to come up with the next time ?  Can't they just  design a "simple"  test or blood test, or the like, something that doen't take more than 15 ms. that's all the drs have to give you nowadays !!

Hi Karen!

 

This is something I would not associate with pain...movement changes.  What I wonder is...if this measure corresponds with the patient's own subjective assessment of their pain.  I assume that everyone would be different in how their body movement or lack of movement corresponds with the pain they are feeling. 

 

My husband, for example, had a collapsed lung (no real cause but runs in his family) and he was walking around...climbing stairs...but he was in some severe pain. 

 

Interesting study...thanks for sharing.

ooooh, so cool! How wonderful that people are starting to look for alternatives in measuring pain other than the dratted pain scales! Am sharing this one everywhere.
