I have fibro flares often after having a migraine attack, for which I take sumatriptan. I ache all over, but particularly in my buttocks. Interesting, but cause unknown. I also have flares sometimes with weather changes. I also am on disability retirement, so don't have to worry about job responsibilities. I also rest a lot when needed. I wish I could decrease fatigue and increase energy.

Wow Karen, you have described my flare issues to a T. Having had fibro for nearly 20 years now, I have gotten to be pretty good at avoiding them, but I sure had all of the issues you describe. I have become very proactive in warding off a flare, although as you know, it is sometimes just going to happen. I recently fell down half my indoor stairs, and broke my ankle and got a ton of brusies as well. The ankle had to be surgically repaired, how wonderful, and I spent a night in the hospital with none of my normal meds and on a hard mattress. It was a nightmare. So when I got home, I scooted up the stairs on my fanny and went to bed. I am still spending most of my time in bed, after 7 weeks, and I somehow managed to avoid the flare that I was sure I would have. I do get up and go downstairs, very slowly, but I am healing very well, and don't feel the terrible flare symptoms I feared. I helps that I am disabled, so I didn't have to worry about a job issue and I have a sister who helps out immensly with the house and my animals. But all in all, the bed rest has been a true lifesaver for me. I reccomend it.
