Well said, Karen, well said!!  I think you have spoken for many of us in this article.

"The addicts are merely finding a way around the deterrent or switching their drug of choice––usually to a much more dangerous drug."

 

This is reality. They (addicts) would find more dangerous stuff to get high on to the detriment of people like us who need the safer pain meds. In my town grade 2 kids were trying to get high or make believe on baby powder, real baby powder .They  got really sick..........

What can we do to make these deciders think about us instead of panicking about potential  addicts ?
