Thank you Karen'

I really had never put enough consideration into what they do, other than make sure drugs are safe for us.  I especially like the idea that they don't make medications for an illness that does not exist?

Thank you

Thank you Karen!

Thanks for responding to my question about FDA approval.  I think it was asked more in frustration at my insurance company, but you gave me a lot of information I was not aware of.

I have an private health insurance policy which is worse than nothing, UNLESS I get a catastrophic illness because I am considered un-insurable by our insurance industry.  My monthly premium is over $3500/month, and they only covered my prescriptions up to the first $1000 for 2007.  That was used up before the middle of the year, and the 2 drugs listed above were never covered.  My monthly prescription cost has been running slightly under $800!  I am not working, so can not get in a group insurance program so I am one of the millions "caught in the middle".

I guess in am lucky in a way - neither Cymbalta nor Lyrica worked for me so my Pain Management doctor changed me to other drugs that are available in generic form - still not covered under my insurance, but less expensive than the brands.
