I’ve read a lot of books about fibromyalgia and ME/CFS, but none have touched me like Dorothy Wall’s Encounters with the Invisible: Unseen Illness, Controversy and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.  Although the book is a very intimate account of Wall’s experiences with chronic fatig...

I notice that you don't bother to answer your email if you don't like the comments.  Well, really, what qualifies you to understand fibromyalgia?  I have had fibromyalgia for over 40 years.  I also have severe osteoporosis with a multitude of past broken bones.

I am also a trim neurological nurse practitioner who practices what I preach.  So why the EXPERT tag?

Now answer this time or I will report you to your website sponsors.

    Dear Helencal,

I feel badly that you think I have not responded to your e-mail.  I can't find that I've ever received an e-mail from you.
I went back and checked more than a year's worth of my e-mails and private messages to make sure I hadn't missed something, but I couldn't find anything from you.

To answer your question about why I have the expert tag, I am considered to be a patient expert.  I'm not a medical expert, nor do I pretend to be.  I do consult with some of the top fibromyalgia specialists in the country, though, and any articles I write are reviewed by a medical expert before they are published.  What qualifies me?  Not only do I have fibromyalgia, but I've worked as a fibromyalgia advocate and educator for more than 10 years.  Please read my profile for more details on my background:  http://www.healthcentral.com/chronic-pain/c/5949/profile

If you have any other questions or concerns about me or the site, let me know and I'll be happy to give you the site producer's e-mai address.

I'm sorry to hear you have suffered so much for so long.  We have a nice group here on ChronicPainConnection and I hope you'll find support and encouragement from our community members.

    Karen
