That's not a simple question to answer.  Although fibromyalgia and ME/CFS (also known as chronic fatigue syndrome) have many similarities, how they respond to exercise is not one of them.  The right kind of exercise usually helps reduce FM symptoms, but the same exercise may cause ME/CFS symptoms to get worse. 

If you have both, as I and many others do, you have to walk a fine line when it comes to any kind of activity, especially what we generally consider to be exercise.  I used to think exercise was a dirty word – until a wonderful FM/ME/CFS specialist taught me that FM and ME/CFS patients need to redefine the term exercise.
