Living with Chronic Pain: Low Self Esteem
I frequently talk with fibromyalgia and other chronic pain patients who suffer from low self-esteem. They were once confident, vital individuals who made important contributions to their families, their careers and their communities. But now they can no longer do all the things they once did. Sometimes they are so sick they are barely able to function at all. While some are able to maintain a positive attitude, others voice their feelings of worthlessness.
If you’ve ever had any of those feelings, please be sure to read “You Are Not Your Illness” and learn how to recognize and appreciate the real you––regardless of your physical condition.
