mouth stiffness

  • Hello everyone.  I'm just learning how to get around this new site.  Does anyone know how long it takes after surgery for your teeth to fit together and mouth to open without stiffness?  I had arthoscopic surgery 3 weeks ago.

Thanks for writing you guys.  I saw my doctor Thursday.  He's always in a hurry and says everythings normal.  Have an appt. Thanks for writing you guys.  I saw my doctor Thursday.  He's always in a hurry and says everythings normal.  Have an appt. Tuesday to get fitted for a new splint.  Started wearing my old one at night even though I was told not to and it's making me feel better.  They don't know if it needs adjusted didn't even check it out.  I do still have swelling.  He said that the swelling is protecting the joint while it heals.  I am still on soft diet and stretching exercises.  I'm taking things one day at a time...

Did your doctor mention any issues with your bite post operatively?  Did you mention to this in your appointment after surgery?  What did he say?
Some of the time the change in bite is due to swelling. Are you still swollen?

You can't open your mouth? Are you doing any physical therapy? When is your next visit with the doctor?
