Thursday, May 28, 2009 at 08:35 AMI agree with you 100% about soma being a great pain medication. I take Soma 350mg without the codine though...it works great for my nerve pain that runs down my right arm and into my hand. The only problem that I have found is that doctors don't like to prescribe it that much. Plus you build up a tolerance to the medication. It works wonders when used with an opiate. Thank you for sharing about this medication because at times I felt like I was the only one that felt this way about soma.

Friday, May 29, 2009 at 02:49 AMI agree completely about Soma. It is the only med. that really helps me. I have yet to find a doctor who "likes" Soma, but have never received any intelligent answer. They will give me all the narcotics that I want, but are very reluctant to let me take the only med that helps. If you find any rationale for this, please let me know. With Soma, I can almost live a normal life, but it is such a battle to get these pain "specialists" to prescribe it.
Take care,
Elaine

Friday, May 29, 2009 at 09:39 AMI don't know why doctors are so reluctant to prescribe this medication but like you said they will prescrib opiates all day long. I usually go to an online pharmacy to buy somas. I fear one day the DEA will take that away from us also. But there are some very good sites that I use, the only thing is, is to make sure you buy the watson brand. If you need any addresses to these sites I would be more then willing to give them to you. I've done my research about why soma works so well instead of other muscle relaxers. It literally stops the pain messages to the brain instead of attaching to the pain receptors in the brain like opiates do. I hope this helps.

Thursday, July 02, 2009 at 05:26 PMHi Jennifer,
I would be interested in the sites you have. Do you still need a RX to buy from online sites? I agree with the others, Soma works for me, and it is hard to get the docs to prescribe it. I had to fight to get 30 pills, and then no refills. I also agree about the Watson brand. The generic is garbage, and does NOT work anything like the Watson brand. If you like you can e mail me privately at juz4fun58@gmail.com

Friday, July 03, 2009 at 12:22 AMI would be very interested to find out what websites you go to to buy this drug. I use both soma, for muscle spasms and oxy for osteoporosis fracture pain. Do you need a script to purchase on the net. Please let us know, because there is more than one of us who need answers to these questions.

my docs thought soma was evil

Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at 12:12 PMI took soma for a while for pain and sleep (mostly it helped me sleep). My primary doc prescribed it, but my pain specialists were appalled and worked really hard to get me off it (and it was hard to get off of). Although it helped me sleep, it's more like sedation than sleep (which is not the same thing) and can disrupt normal sleep cycles leading to further sleep problems.....which I now have.
I'm glad to hear it helping some of you out there, but just wanted to share my experience on soma.
PS-I found zanaflex to be a much better muscle relaxer than soma
