Have you tried our forum as I suggested to you before?  Bob Englebardt has more experience with the morphine pump than anyone I know and will be happy to chat with you and answer your questions.  Here's the link that will take you directly into the discussion on pain pumps:

(Please remember:  If you've never been to the forum before, you'll have to register separately from your registration here on ChronicPainConnection.  You can, however, use the same e-mail address and password if you like to make it easier to remember.)

My daughter has had a morphine pump for 10 years and has had no problems with it. Now she has to go to her pain doctor to have it refilled about every 42 days. Has had chronic back pain for 15 years. installing the pump was a breeze. Hope this helps

Debbie has shoulder problems. Her concerns are with the medication being injected directly into the glenohumeral joint. We have been having a discussion about it for about a week now.

I have shoulder problems as well as do other family members. I wanted her to know about the side effects that could occur with the pump. As I have stated I have family members that both had problems with the pump in realtion to their joints. I never used it for that reason.

Please, get more info. I was given this option, it is the size of a hockey puck, stretches out your skin, and in some cases will not relieve pain, and maybe surgery for it will cause more problems-

pls--think before you get it-exhaust all medication combinations-4-6 medications + .

Good luck with your pain, decision.
