Hello, I am Deborah. I have been living with TMJ for approximately 18 years. I have had 4 surgeries to maintain my TMJ to a low pain level. My last surgery was in June of 2007. I have my good days and then there are always those really bad days that no one wants to deal with. I have a great Oral Surgeon that has done 3 of my last surgeries and he stays in close contact with me to help me stay on track and make sure that my pain levels remain as low as possible. My last surgery was the worst one so far. There was some nerve damage on my left side of my face. I have been told that this is common with the more surgeries that you have, due to scar tissue.
I have a many interest. I like Comedy Shows, going to the movies, Car Shows, Horseback Riding (which I do not get to do much, because of my TMJ), Hiking, Gardening, Needlepoint and NASCAR. I love to collect Wind chimes and lighthouses. Every year my family attends the local Rodeo and Car Shows that are done in our small town and surrounding towns. In NASCAR, I pull for Kasey Kane.
I am married (if you have not already figured this out about me) for 16 ½ years. I have the greatest husband in the world, Brian. We have a soon to be 11-year-old son, Taylor. We also have a very loving and protective dog. She is our little pound puppy. Her name is Zoe'. She looks like a miniature German Shepherd, although she is part German Shepherd - part Terrier. She keeps me going many days. She always has to give me a kiss and a hug. She wants to play all the time. We are really glad that she picked us to come live with. I work for a local university as an Network Systems Analyst. There are 4 others on our LAN Team and we are really close, almost like family - the guys I work with act just like brothers. I would not trade them for the world though, they are really great guys. I enjoy listening to music (pretty much all kinds). My favorite artist are Pink, Trace Adkins, Bon Jovi, Tim McGraw, Jimmy Buffett, and Nantucket. As far as comedians go, I have seen Jeff Foxworthy, Larry the Cable Guy, Ron White, Henry Cho and a few others.
