Getting Better

It has been a while since I last posted on here. My last post was shortly after my last surgery (Bi-Lateral Arthoscopy?) June of 2007. The surgery went well. Well it turned out that Feburary of 2008, I was involved in a minor car accident. It was determined by MRI and my Oral Surgeon that the accident undid the surgery. It was too early to go in and do the surgery again. I had to compile a list of all the...

Hello All, Surgery took place on this past Thursday, June 14th. I was there at 6AM and was back home by 1:30 PM. He cleaned the joints and removed scar tissue, any adhesion and debris from the joint. Cleaned it up really good and put it back together. I have slept the past few days and today I am going to try to stay awake during the day so I can sleep completely through the night. Try to keep myself on...

Less Than A Week Until Surgery

Well, It is less than one week from my up-and-coming 4th surgery for my TMJ. It is similar to all the ones that I have had before. The only difference this time is that I am going without Pain Meds and without Muscle Relaxers. I had been allowed to take Aleve for when the pain got to hard to deal with. Although when I had Pre-Op on Wednesday, they told me that I can not take that anymore before...

Dealing with TMJ

I was diagnosed with TMJ about 17 years ago. I found out after being misdiagnosed 8 times for an Ear Infections in 1990. Was then referred to the Oral Surgeon at the university where they started the typical stuff: meds, PT, Bio-Feedback, special diets, etc... Nothing really did help. After a year of all of that, he ordered an MRI. It showed possible deterioration of the discs on both sides. That is when I had the first...
