Four years ago I broke both of my ankles in a fall, and despite 3 surgeries, an external fixater and 2 years of parathyroid hormone (fortaeo)  shots daily in my thigh to make my bones grow, I never healed right.I was on vicodin for a few years then my doctor switched me to fentanyl patch.Because I did not agree with his idea to give me an ankle fusion (I had since become diabetic), he pulled all of my pain meds.I can not drive and I just broke up with my boyfriend a few weeks ago that lived with me.Now that I have to take the bus to get my own groceries and go to my appts., I am having a lot more pain and swelling. Also living on the second floor and having to struggle with things I need to do daily, like cooking cleaning ect., is taking its toll on me.Can some people out there share with me as to having to do everything yourself with no one to help you, and how you cope?
