I live with chronic pain. I have degenerative disc disease, sciatica, pinched nerves, my last disc collapsed onto my tailbone, when the disc collapsed my nerve root was stuck inbetween the disc and my tailbone. I have artheristis in my back, in my ankles and feet. I also have a fractured disc that...

Monday, September 22, 2008 at 12:32 PMHi I just want to say how happy I am to find this sight. I did not realize how many people in this world are going through the same thing I am going through. You can talk to your family and friends but they really do not understand the depth of your pain and how lonely it can be. Thank you again.

Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at 10:53 PMHi Thank you for your letter. I am 40 well going to be 41 saturday. What happened to have such a bad accident. God bless that you are still alive. I myself had a bad accident but it is not the result of my pain it just contributes to my pain. I just moved to Iowa, started working at a place called Vantec. I just got a newish Grand Am. It said rain but the curve I was going around ended up being ice, nothing was said on the radio about ice. Mind you new to the area and went I went around the curve the car kept going around the curve to much and then when i turned the wheel , not alot though I ended up in the ditch. The car flipped 3 times. Missed the gas line by inches. But the time it stopped I was upside down. Luckily I had my seat belt on. I was upside down, smelled something not right, then got scared, let the seat belt go and landed on my head. Bad concusion and everything else to go along with it. They call it the infamous Duncombe curve. That was bad enough I cant imagine your accident. I am so sorry. I hope we can talk more than just now. Where are you from? I am from Ct.
I am so thankful for finding this site. It doesnt make the pain go away but it helps to find other people going through all the same stuff I am. With everything, I am still here and so are you. God doesnt give you want you cant handle. I cant give up, it wont do any good. Just keep pushing. My mother fought nonhodgkins lymphome for 11 years and did not give up until the end. I like to think I have her same will power. you get tired. How do you do it? Are you on any meds now. Been through all the meds detoxing , and everything , I have been going through this since 1981. Back surgery , you name it been there too. I had a drs appt today and I finally got some meds. I feel better than earlier. I will take what I can get. Just 1 hour of pain relief is like xmas, it didnt take it all away but no complaints. I will take what I can get. I saw this dr when I broke my back and he listened and helped me. Now I have bronchitis and he is fixing that too. Thanks to this site, I didnt back down and said what I had to say, I told him that I am on a site called chronic pain connection, I told him about it and that its there for people like us. He thought it was really cool. I told him a little bit about it and what it does and that we all talk to each other and help each other. He liked it. So again I thank god for this site. I really hope you are ok... I dont feel so alone anymore and it does give you strength. Keep being strong as I will too. We are all bonded thru are pain. I do agree about the antidepressent, I think he might put me back on cymbalta,. He did not like the fact that I wasnt on anything anymore. I think he is going to put back on boniva too. Good luck. I am here if you want to talk again.

Friday, October 10, 2008 at 08:12 PMI've been dealing with since 1990. I'm 47 and fell 40ft. doing more damage than I want to write about. Are youn seeing a GP or a pain management doctor? I just had another surgery. The hospital said it took 10 times the usual amount of pain meds. to keep me from thrashing after surgery. They had my records but felt they would reduce my pain meds. while I was in the hospital. Can you believe they would be so ignorant? It was right after another major back surgery! It would also be good to have your previous doctor write a letter that you can give to a pain mngmt. doctor. I always go to the same pharmacy where they now know me. I got sick and tired of them thinking I was a druggy. If it was oxycontin and you wanted name brand I understand. My doctor had to tell my insurance that he would triple my dose if they insisted on generic. The generic didn't do much at all. I went through partial withdrawal while taking it.

Hello Libralynn
It's a plesure to meet you and Welcome to the Chronic Pain Connection!
Your pain & situation really sounds horrible and I don't have the answers for you, but I woud continue to search for a doctor who is willing to treat you. Many other pain patients have this very same trouble when the move to a new area. You don't have any relationship with these docs and boy that makes it hard for them to trust you enough to treat you. Did you bring your records with you from your previous home?? If not, then I would send for them and take a copy of your records with you to each and every doctors apt, till you find the right one. I know that it expensive and apts are really tought to go to, but I just don't know another way.
All the addict in this country have ruined it for those of us who need these medications to be able to function, work and sometimes just to get out of bed and take care of our basic needs.
We have a forum area here too, if your interested? we have a support group in the forum area, called the daily grind, it's in the Off Topic area of the forum and your welcome to join us if you'd like. You get to the forum area, by clicking on the blue connect button at the top of the page and then click on Chronic Pain forums. When you get to the forums, you just have to re register with your screen name and pw for that area and your in. The support Group is open to all and anyone interested and we would really love to have you with us. It's tough being & suffering with Chronic Pain and we all understand what your going through. I've really been doing & coping alot better since I joined this group last year and I just thought I would mention it.
Take Care
Gentle Hugs
