Hello Beanie
My name is Bill and I too have had DISH for 20 years. After 2 surgeries leaving me with severe pain in my back, legs and neck I spent years seaching for relief. Numerous nuerosurgeons would not touch me after viewing the MRI's. As my back and neck fused from the calcium deposits bending me forward one surgeon refered me to a rhuematolgist who said to have a blood test. If a certain type A was present then it would be DISH. He said it would be a waste of money to seek further treatment. Pain management was the only recourse. I now have an internal pain pump as well as I must take heavy does of opiates daily to barely function. In addition oral muscle relaxers keep me from spasm. Until 1999 my wife and I operated a succesful retail shop. my condition worsened to a degree where I was completely disabled. Todate I am 90% unable to even use my legs. I have read there are only 200,000 cases of dish in the US. Aren't we lucky to be one of the chosen few? I am mostly confined to my bed and recliner. (and me an outdoors man) I never know which area of my body will give me the most pain on a day to day basis.
Without my faith in Jesus Christ I could not go on. I am sympathetic to anyone suffering from this and other pain related issues. Would love to hear from others.
