I've lived with chronic pain for the last 7 years. I broke my neck in a car accident when I was 16, had to have a C5-C6 fusion. To help with the healing the surgeon also implanted a donor bone graph which within 6 months of recovery, began to deteroriate and couldn't figure out why. In the next ...

Wow, you've been through the ringer.

I can't imagine haveing your kind of problems for so long.

I know the feelings that you speak of. The feeling of hopelessness, anger, frustration. It stinks. You seem to have tried everything out there. Don't give up. If you are not satisfied with the two "solutions" placed in front of you, try to do some homework. Try to surf the web. Look for things that could at least help you manage your situation until a better answer comes. You know your body better than anyone else. Most of the time if you find something that you believe that my help you your doctor will normally go along with it. Don't give up until you are happy with your treatment plan.

When I first became ill I wen to therapy sessions with a girl that had issues that are similar to what yours are. At age 15 she had the spine of a 90 year old woman w/osteoporosis. I know that this worked for her maybe you could look into it. She did therapy over a 6 month period (aqua therapy). Then she went for fusions. The muscle that she had built while in therapy aided in holding her spine in correct positon for healing. Maybe you've already looked into this. I'm sorry that I can't be any more help to you. I hope that you can find an answer soon. Good Luck!

    Hi,

time is short as pain is really tough right now,but I read your post and it really touched me as I know somewhat the pain you're going through. I'll be keeping you in thought and prayer here. I stay in a lot of pain also, but you're younger and with pain being so much at your age, I too would be terrified of the future. Do know I'm here to vent should you feel like it. I wish they're was something else I could to help you as your post really touched me and felt strongly led to touch base with you. You may email me at Markcs1956@aol.com. If you would, please remember me in prayer also.
