Bowel Constipation or not? Please shed some light on this

By youngman92 Tuesday, July 31, 2012

Hi everyone i'm a 20 year old dealing with a recurring episode of constipation on a daily basis and i am relying on coffee everyday to have a bowel movement.

Maybe some background on this present situation might shed some light. When i was younger, the age of 14, i was living through a really stressful life period with my father creating daily episodes of tension and arguments in the house due to frequent outbreak of his own anger. As such, due to his own anger issues and management, he frequently prevented me from having a proper session of a bowel movement (BM) when i needed to. This created frequent hard stools and bleeding when i finally had a BW and certain episodes of me having to get out of the toilet before i had a complete and proper BM was so common back in those days. This carried on for a few months and one day when i had a session of BM the stimulation in the bowels was gone although the feeling of fecal prescence was there. Some other factors that might have contributed to this present situation could be certain episodes of me having a masturbation during a BM, which i know is really ridiculous.

I tried self-medicating by straining my bowels during a BM thinking it might help to stimualate the defeacation. This helped a little but proved too tiring and unhealthy for a long term solution.

Three years back my bowels seem to feel better and perform better. However, each BM only removed most of the stool but not entirely as i could still feel the fecal prescence and still required me to strain my bowels which was really too tiring, time consuming and unhealthy. On average i have 2 to 3 BM a day from 1 BM back when i was younger and each interval between each BM session could be 15 to 20 mins. To add, at this point of time there was still no sensation of stimulation in the bowels on a regular BM session except when there is stomach ache and dirreahea going on.

Recently i am just too tired of all the straining and relyed on coffee as a laxative for me to have a comfortable BM. Although coffee helps but i don't think its a solution for the long term and ultimately the main problem is still present which is there is no feeling of stimulation in my bowels on a regular BM session without coffee!

Please do provide some answers on this as well as any opinions. Some suggestions on how i could improve bowel stimulation would be really appreaciated! I have to serve my country soon and i am afraid this affecting me in there. Please do respond. Thanks to all and god bless.
