Hello Terrie

It's nice to meet you.

Survival mode huh?

I go into survival mode or isolation atleast once per week.  Somtimes longer & sometimes shorter.  It just depends on what this demon called pain decides to do.

Over the past 8 yrs, I've learned some home remedies to use in pain control, I've got two wonderful docs who have worked with me to find a correct dosage of meds, but a person can never completely rely on meds to rid themselves of chronic pain, it takes an entire tool box of remedies, treatments, exercise and solutions to control this type of pain and when all else fails, I go to bed with my therapy poodle, my heat pad and a large ice pack and pray alot, and when I say pray alot, I mean meditation & prayer for hours on end.  It's the only thing that keeps me sane when the pain is that high.  I still feel like I'm loosing it, but, I try the best I can to sleep.

I also belong to a few therapy groups, we have one here in the forum area in the off topic section called the Daily Grind where we all meet daily or as often as we are able and just check in with one another, talk about our current struggles, joys, pains and life stresses or what ever we want.  There's no spacific topic anyone has to keep, hence the off topic area and we support one another through all of our pain and struggles.  Your welcome to join us.  If you need instructions I'll be glad to supply you with them.  To get there you just go to the top of the page and click on connect, then click on pain forums and sign up for that side with a new screen name and pass word.  Most use something similar to over here so we can recognize one another, but you can do it any way you'd like.

All are welcome to join us.

Take Care

Gentle Hugs

Hi,

I definitely am just surviving right now, so I hear you- My main problem is that I can't get out because I can't drive and live in the forest~ and being all alone all the time without even TV makes it really hard to deal with the pain and disabilities I have.

So I'd love to be a part of this on-line group. You say you meet as often as you can? (if my memory serves me rightTongue out) or is there some kind of schedule, a particular day/night? I'm brand new to this site-

Thanks.

Good Morning Zoe

I think you already made it over to the forum area, but I thought I'd just leave you the link that goes strait to the daily grind and your welcome to come in and read others post and get a feel for the people there.  http://forums.healthcentral.com/discussion/chronic-pain/forums/a/tpc/f/1361017/m/52110033/p/6

We are probably one of the most layed back groups of people around, the only rules are to be kind, supportive & courteous to oneanother and your welcome to share on any schedule that suits your life.  It's a no pressure kind of place.

Most of us check in a couple times a day, in the am and maybe afternoon or evening.  Just depends on our days.  So create your own schedule and do as you'd like.

We would love for you to join us and come on in.  Everyone is very kind and you'll get to know everyone quickly.

Take Care and Please know we care

Betty
